BIOGRAPHIES
JJ Bauer (Stage Manager/Dramaturg)
JJ is delighted to work again with longtime friends at Redbird Theater Company. She has been a stage manager, props manager, costume designer, set designer, and utterly unwilling actor for various area theater companies, including Deep Dish Theater, Ghost and Spice Productions, NC State Theatrefest, The Open Door Theatre, Street Signs Center for Literature and Performance, and Wordshed Productions.
Kevin Collins (Anton)
Kevin is thrilled to be a part of this RedBird reading. Previous credits in the Triangle area include APPROPRIATE (North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre), WITCH (Raleigh Little Theater), and AS YOU LIKE IT (Elsewhere Shakespeare). Upcoming, he will be performing in LUNGS at the Justice Theater Project.
Mark Filiaci (Gorky/Uncle Nikolai)
Mark is a Pennsylvania native who moved from NYC to Durham in 1985. He has performed on numerous stages including Manbites Dog, Temple Theater, RedBird Theatre, Cape Fear Regional, Barter Theater, Louisville Rep, Theatrefest, Deep Dish, REP, and NC STATE (Guest Artist). Mark is the co-founder of AMERICAN THEATRE PRACTICE.
Matthew Kinney (Nemirovich/Mustafa)
Matthew is happy for the opportunity to work with RedBird. He was most recently seen in WITCH at Raleigh Little Theater, Un/NAMED with Burning Coal Theater, and APPROPRIATE at North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre. Previous stage productions in New York and North Carolina include THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE, THE REAL THING, THE MacGUFFIN, HAY FEVER, and many more. Love to his support team, Michelle, Elliott, Ivy, and Ada.
Gwen Muncy-Champitto (Marfa)
Gwen is excited to be joining the cast of MASHA AND ANTOSHA! She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2024 with her degree in Theatre Education. Gwen has been teaching Theatre in the Cary/Raleigh area since then, as well as performing and stage managing. She would like to thank the cast, crew and her family for their support. Enjoy the performance!
Mark Perry (Playwright)
Mark teaches playwriting and play analysis in the UNC Department of Dramatic Art. He is also a resident dramaturg for PlayMakers Repertory Company. Mark received his MFA in playwriting from the University of Iowa ('01). His plays include A NEW DRESS FOR MONA, LIBERTY (or The Will of Bernard Boynton), TWIN LIGHTS, and MASTERS FALLS. Mark and his wife, Azi, work with many youth, children, and families in the area through Baha'i-sponsored community activities. In 2002, he started Drama Circle, dedicated to "Using the Arts to Build Community."
Parker Perry (Levitan/Ivan)
Parker is thrilled to be working with RedBird Theatre Company for the first time! He was last seen on stage as Cuddy in Raleigh Little Theatre’s production of WITCH. He thanks Jeri Lynn for this opportunity, Mark Perry for his gorgeous script, and you for supporting new works!
Jeri Lynn Schulke (Director)
Jeri Lynn is an actor, director, producer, and co-founder of RedBird Theater Company. She received her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has appeared in productions throughout the Triangle. She led five seasons at ArtsCenter Stage as the Producing Artistic Director, and another five years at PlayMakers Rep as the Education & Engagement Manager. Recent directing credits include WITCH (Raleigh Little Theater), APPROPRIATE (NRACT), ART (RedBird), SPRING AWAKENING (Kenan Theater Company), Kate Hamill’s PRIDE & PREJUDICE (Raleigh Little Theater), SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS (Honest Pint), THE TAMING (Justice Theater Project), BONNIE AND CLYDE (NRACT).
Edith Snow (Evgenia)
Edith has performed on NC stages for two and a half decades. She has toured with the National Theater of the Deaf, Cleveland Sign Stage Company, Theater Delta, and Hidden Voices. Favorite roles include: Nora in Burning Coal’s A DOLL'S HOUSE, Mel in ManBites Dog’s GOD'S EAR, Amy in Theatre Raleigh’s JUNK, and Toni in NRACT’s APPROPRIATE. TV credits include: Marvel’s ECHO, HOMELAND, TURN: WASHINGTON'S SPIES, and ONE TREE HILL.
Lola Ureña (Masha)
Lola is thrilled to be returning to the stage after a long hiatus. She attended East Carolina University’s School of Theatre and Dance where she studied the Meisner acting technique. Most recently she made her Raleigh Little Theatre debut as Elizabeth Sawyer in WITCH. Previously, she has worked closely with Burning Coal Theatre Company and Theater Delta. She would like to extend gratitude to her loving partner, Mike, for his unending support. Enjoy the show!
Lindsey Womack (Olga/Mariushka)
Lindsey is excited to be working with RedBird Theater Company again and participating in the reading of this new piece of work. Recent assistant directing credits include RHINOCEROS, directed by Adam Traylor with Switch Theater Company, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, directed by Tim Seib, and SILENT SKY, directed by Tracy Bersley, with Center Theater Company. Previous performances include Puff in REVOLUTION with RedBird Theater Company and Ensemble in A CHRISTMAS CAROL with Center Theater Company.
