Sliding Scale Ticket Pricing

RedBird Theater Company offers a flexible sliding-scale ticketing policy to better serve both our art and our audience.

 

Our Founders, Board members, and other Volunteers invest in live theater by donating our time and talents to provide administrative services — fundraising, marketing, public relations, house management, etc. — for the company.  We work from our homes and laptops, and don’t spend company funds on office space and utilities.

 

We keep production costs to a minimum.  At the same time, we are dedicated to paying artists; presenting top-quality productions in the intimate settings our audience has come to know and love; and keeping our productions accessible to all members of our community.

 

We invite you to join us in supporting live theater in North Carolina

by paying as generously as you can afford.

 

When you visit our box office you will be offered the following ticket pricing options. Please select the price you are most comfortable paying.  And please know that all revenues from ticket sales go directly to paying artists and to meeting the real costs of producing live theater (royalties, insurance, costumes/sets/lights/props, equipment rentals, rehearsal/performance space, etc.).

Base Ticket Price - $30

Our suggested starting price is $30. This price in no way reflects the real costs of producing live theater and paying our artists; but we believe it's a comfortable starting point from which you can make your own decision about what your current circumstances can bear.

Enhanced Option "Angel"

$80 Sliding Scale Ticket

I am comfortable and able to meet all of my basic needs. I may have some debt, but it does not prohibit attaining basic needs. I own my home, or I rent a higher-end property. I own/ lease a car or can always afford public and private transport. I am employed or do not need to work to meet my needs. I have regular access to healthcare. I have access to financial savings. I have an expendable income. I can afford vacations or to take time off.

Enhanced Option "Patron"

$60 Sliding Scale Ticket

I can meet my basic needs. I may have some debt, but it does not prohibit attaining basic needs. I own my home, or I rent a property. I own/lease a car or can afford public and private transport. I am employed or self-employed. I have access to healthcare. I have access to some financial savings. I have some expendable income. I can take a vacation without a financial burden.

Enhanced Option "Supporter"

$40 Sliding Scale Ticket

I may stress meeting my basic needs, but I still regularly achieve them. I may have some debt, but it does not prohibit attaining basic needs. I have access to a car and can afford gas, or I can afford public transport and often private transport. I am employed or self-employed. I have some financial savings. I have some expendable income. I have access to healthcare. I can take a vacation annually or every few years without a financial burden.

$15 Sliding Scale Ticket

Limited Availability.  One per person.

I frequently stress about meeting basic needs and don’t always achieve them. I have debt, sometimes prohibiting me from meeting my basic needs. I have unstable housing. I sometimes can’t afford public or private transport. I am unemployed or underemployed. I have no access to savings. I have no or very limited expendable income. I do not have the ability to take time off without financial burden.
